Barometer: a useful instrument

A barometer is a device that was invented in 1643 by Evangelista Toricelli for measuring atmospheric pressure. There are several types of barometers such as stick, banjo, wheel, aneroid, pocket, and more. The main function of a barometer is to measure atmospheric pressure, but it is also used for measuring altitude.

There are two types of barometers that are primarily used and seen in homes: one is a mercury barometer and another is the aneroid barometer. An aneroid barometer is smaller in size. A mercury barometer is often used for regulating and checking aneroid barometers.

Clocksdirect.com.au has classic and contemporary barometers that can suit your home or office.
